Lizzo has once again refuted claims that she used Ozempic for weight loss in a new video posted on TikTok.

Lizzo smiling in a casual outfit, discussing her five healthy lifestyle habits for weight loss without using Ozempic.

Pop star Melissa Vivian Jefferson posted a sarcastic video on the social media platform, expressing her displeasure with the speculation surrounding her altered appearance.

Ozempic, a prescription diabetes medication, has become popular "off-label" for those trying to lose weight thanks to its active ingredient, semaglutide, which acts as an appetite suppressant.

In June, Lizzo revealed that she had tried Ozempic and other GLP-1 medications but stopped using them. However, some claimed this was the reason for her weight loss over the past two years.

In a TikTok video, Lizzo pretended to be someone asking her how she lost weight.

She responded by saying she achieved it through a calorie deficit, regular cardio workouts, prioritizing sleep, reducing cortisol levels, and avoiding alcohol for several months.

The other person usually replies, “So… Ozempic?”

Making a face, Lizzo firmly responds, “I didn’t use Ozempic.”

“You’re lying,” they insist. “If you didn’t take Ozempic, then how did you lose the weight?”

Lizzo repeats the lifestyle changes she adopted, such as maintaining a calorie deficit, getting enough sleep, and exercising.

She captioned the video, “Hope this helps.”

Earlier this month, the About Damn Time star told Women's Health how she's embraced her current appearance, declaring, "Body positivity is the radical act of daring to exist loudly and proudly in a society that has told you you shouldn't exist." She explained her changing relationship with her body, saying, "I love the way I look now. I still think I'm plus-size. I still wear plus-size clothes. I have the same curves. I have the same tummy and the same thighs—I just think I'm a smaller version."

She also stated that she would be "just as proud" of losing weight through medication or surgery because "it's so hard."

She said, "Anyone who has had a bigger body in this current society knows that it's not easy. It's not easy to live with."

The singer shared a photo of herself on Instagram showing her progress, saying she works out three times a week and has transitioned from a plant-based diet to one that includes animal proteins, in addition to hiring a chef to help her prepare her meals and maintain a balanced calorie intake.

She has previously spoken about how she dealt with the reactions of fans who considered her a body-positive icon, explaining that her view of the body has shifted from "body positivity" to "body neutrality."

She told The New York Times in March 2024, "I'm not going to lie and say I love my body every day. The bottom line is, how you feel about your body changes every day."

Body positivity is a social movement that promotes body acceptance regardless of shape, size, gender, or race. It began as a response to restrictive beauty standards perpetuated by the media and fashion industries.

Body neutrality, in contrast, encourages people to feel whatever they want about their bodies, with many proponents focusing on health as the primary goal, rather than achieving a specific weight or size.
